The 10 Indian Commandments

The 10 Indian Commandments

1.Treat the Earth and all that dwells therein with respect.
2.Remain close to the Great Spirit.
3.Show great respect to your fellow beings.
4.Work together for the benefit of all mankind.
5.Give assistance and kindness wherever needed.
6.Do what you know to be right.
7.Look for the well-being for mind and body.
8.Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
9.Be truthful and honest all times.
10.Take full responsibility for your actions.

The 10 Indian Commandments is are "rules" Indians choose to live by. They dedicate their time and energy to fulfill everyone of these Commandments. In my opinion I believe these commandments can bring a great lifestyle because it feels good to help and respect others. All these commandments encourage you to choose the right. They tell you to help others, respect the earth and even take care of yourself.

Student Success Statement

Goodness
"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."-Henry David Thoreau

The statement explains that giving your time to do something good just because it's good never backfires. You don’t expect anything back so you never feel bad. Instead you feel great because you did a good thing and helped someone or did something good. For example helping a friend who's in need even when they don't ask you too. You don't expect anything back but they will always be grateful. They may even help you out when you are in need. It's just like karma.

Student Success Statement

They're Right
"My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they're popular, you make them because they're right."-Theodore Hesburgh

The statement explains that every decision you make should be because they are the right decision and the best. They can't be based off of how it easy it is to do it or because it’s a trend.  They also shouldn't be the wrong decision. If you have to make a decision base it off what's good for you, what do you think is right for you and also base it off of if it's choosing to be a CTR person. For example, owning a restaurant. You may have a choice of buying the cheap food that is not that healthy or buying a more expensive food that is healthier and better for the customer. Of course you should choose the healthier food but you may be tempted to buy the other food. Simply because it's cheaper and you think no one will notice. Although no one may notice you always have to be honest and look out for the best options, so you should buy the more expensive food. It's the decision that is right.
